Marianist Service Program

"It means a great deal to those who are oppressed to know that they are not alone. And never let anyone tell you that what you are doing is insignificant" ~Bishop Desmond Tutu

The Marianist Service Program at Chaminade exists as a directed, student initiated method of doing service and participation in justice.  It aims at formation of lay leadership in the Church, imitation of Christ, formation of Esto Vir, quality of reflection, greater awareness and appreciation of others, and compassion for the poor and disenfranchised.

All students complete community service as a component of their formation and education each year.  Students are required to participate in service to their family, church, school and communtity.

The number of hours and the types of projects required varies with each grade level.  Service requirements increase as students move from middle school to high school and from underclassmen to upperclassmen.  Students attending Chaminade for all seven years will perform a minimum of 210 service hours.
